2FA Mobile Device Registration Guide

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required when accessing designated websites, online services, such as the MC Virtual Private Network (VPN), MyMC, and Microsoft 365 applications.  You will be prompted to register your mobile device for 2FA at the Claim Your Account process or upon your first access attempt to one of the 2FA protected applications. If you have not Claimed your account click here and complete the Claim Your Account steps. To add or remove a mobile device follow the instructions below to register your device.

For additional information on 2FA, visit the FAQ page here

To Register a new device (add or remove)

Go to https://www.montgomerycollege.edu , click on Access MyMC in the top right corner and follow the prompts to register (detailed steps are below).

Supported Devices

Below is a list of supported devices you may register in 2FA.  If you have multiple devices, it is recommended that you register more than one device so you have a backup in case of emergency.  Contact the IT Service Desk it you do not have a mobile device.  You may add as many devices as you like to your account:

•                iPhone

•                Android

•                Tablets that are compatible with downloading the Duo mobile app

•                Security key (i.e. YubiKey) (purchased at user’s own expense)

•                Hardware Token (contact IT Service Desk if mobile devices are not available) Tip:

It is easier to complete the set up on a computer and not from the device you are registering, although you may complete the steps on your device.
